George Wallace is author of 30 chapbooks of poetry, writer in residence at the Walt Whitman Birthplace, editor of poetrybay.com, and 2015-16 laureate of the National Beat Poetry Festival. A prominent member of the NYC performance scene, he maintains an international schedule of tour dates and has appeared with Levon Helm, Joan Baez, Thurston Moore, and Rock n Roll Hall of Fame folksinger Donovan. A Simple Blues with a Few Intangibles was named a top 10 summer poetry reading choice by the Huffington Post. Floyd Salas is the award-winning author of nine books. He was 2002-2003 Regent’s Lecturer at University of California, Berkeley and a staff writer for the NBC drama series, Kingpin. His first novel, Tattoo the Wicked Cross earned a place on the San Francisco Chronicle’s Western 100 List of Best 20th Century Fiction and also, along with Buffalo Nickel, is featured in Masterpieces of Hispanic Literature. Highrunning Heart features new work along with many of his famous kick-ass poems from the 1960s gathered together in book form for the first time. Two-time California poet laureate Al Young writes of Highrunning Heart, “A superb storyteller whose language is poetry, Salas sings in full voice and always on-key.”
