Introduction
If my books have taught me anything, it is that only life and love count, and that street grudges, old resentments, biases, even principles for their own sake, are meaningless when compared with the need to use up all the precious moments of time with life and love, which is to exist at the apex of being.
Books are black marks on a white slice of tree. Love is what gives the work of art its spiritual beauty, love is that intangible quality of emotion that the work of art possess, it is the invisible essence, the presence of immortality.
